REGULATION PLAN "LABOR AND INDUSTRY ZONE - McGOVERN BASE" ADOPTED

The Assembly of the Brčko District of BiH passed Decision No. 01-02-2120 / 22 of 11 May 2022 on the adoption of the Regulatory Plan "Zone of Labor and Industry - Mc Govern Base" in the Brčko District of BiH.

The area intended for the zone of work and industry in KO Brod, represents a coverage of 176Ha and extends in the area between the city bypass, ie the protection zone of the planned gas pipeline, south to the Brka riverbed, east to Brka and north to KO Ulović, ie the border is Lukavac stream and the existing railway. One of the advantages of this area is the existing railway, and in that sense, as well as the importance of the railway in the transport of goods, the traffic concept of the zone is determined. The existing railway could be used to transport goods and other goods to and from the business zone. An intermodal center for unloading and loading of goods is planned in order to make transport more economical and efficient.

Due to its spatial position in relation to the city and the entire region, the Mc Govern Industrial Zone base is, due to its transport connections, within the IPA 2014 project "Support in establishing and strengthening business zones in order to improve competitiveness in the market." "(EUSESBI) this location was chosen in 10 zones in BiH from 130 applied zones from the whole of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as the zone with the highest potential, and a feasibility study of the said business zone was started, which speaks in favor of its attractiveness.

The Mc Govern database is a scope that will be a synthesis of various functional and organizational purposes. In that sense, there will be so-called Free zone, business zone, cargo transshipment center - intermodal terminal, production zone, zone for the necessary PE Komunalno with the center for animal protection. Considering the proximity of the city and suburbs, dirty industry is not the only thing allowed.

By analyzing the current situation and analyzing the facilities in the contact zones, the planned interventions are based on the following: Formation of the primary network of roads in the direction east - west, north - south, which will be the main roads of the service and transport zone. From these roads within each subzone, internal roads are accessed by all facilities, ie complexes. In this way, the circulation of traffic and transport vehicles is directed in a safer way.
